Call for Paper

Theme 1: AI and EdTech

Submissions under this theme should critically examine how artificial intelligence and educational technologies are shaping transdisciplinary education. Focus areas may include:

  • Innovative curriculum designs integrating AI to foster both analytical and creative competencies across disciplines
  • Ethical considerations in the adoption of AI for teaching and learning, including its impact on original thought, authorship, and creative expression
  • Case studies of collaborative projects leveraging EdTech for holistic learning and co-creation
  • Pedagogical approaches that use AI and EdTech to foster interdisciplinary knowledge and divergent thinking
  • Innovative methods and frameworks for assessing complex and high-order skills in an AI-rich world, such as creativity, adaptive problem-solving, and collaborative resilience

Authors are encouraged to highlight concrete examples, frameworks, or pilot initiatives that demonstrate the intersection between AI and transdisciplinary teaching and learning.


Theme 2: Global Challenges and Sustainability

This theme invites contributions that address pressing global issues through collaborative and transdisciplinary approaches. Focus areas may include:

  • Innovative pedagogical approaches to United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals enabled by inter- and transdisciplinary and/or cross-sector collaboration
  • Models for embedding sustainability across curricula and institutional practices
  • Case studies demonstrating collective action or innovative partnerships that address global challenges
  • Showcase of students’ creative output related to addressing global challenges
  • Evaluation of the effectiveness of inter- and transdisciplinary interventions in real-world settings

Submissions should specify the challenge addressed, the disciplines or sectors involved, and outcomes or lessons learned.


Theme 3: Resilience, Well-being and Creativity Engagement

This theme invites submissions exploring innovative pedagogies, research and initiatives that promote resilience, enhance well-being, and unlock creative capabilities in inter- and transdisciplinary education. Focus areas may include:

  • Pedagogical practices that address mental health challenges and promote holistic well-being within inter- and transdisciplinary programmes or general education courses
  • Pedagogical approaches and curricular design that foster student creativity, and adaptive capacities through integrative teaching
  • Initiatives, interventions, or policy changes that build individual and collective resilience and creative learners
  • Methods of measuring student resilience, well-being, or creative engagement in transdisciplinary contexts

Authors should clearly articulate the challenge, the implemented strategy, and evidence of impact on students, educators, or communities.


Theme 4: Transdisciplinary Partnerships and Innovations

Submissions under this theme should showcase effective partnership models or innovative practices within inter- and transdisciplinary education that promote collaboration in addressing complex challenges: Focus areas may include:

  • Examples of cross-institutional, cross-sectoral, or community partnerships that advance inter- and transdisciplinary learning or research
  • Description of transformative projects or experiential programmes co-created by multiple disciplines or stakeholders
  • Innovative practices, tools, or frameworks that enable new forms of collaboration or knowledge integration
  • Reflections on lessons learned, challenges encountered, and scalable approaches for broader adoption and impact

Authors are encouraged to emphasise the mechanisms of partnership or innovation, resultant transformations and impact, and implications for future practice.


Submission Formats

The organizers invite short paper submissions, following the traditional conference presentation format. Interactive presentations are also welcomed. Each presentation should be no longer than 15 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session. Presentations should be conducted in English.

  • Title of the submission and an abstract of no more than 250 words
  • Short biography of no more than 100 words for each presenter
